Ted McCarty, former president of Gibson, was brought in by Paul Reed Smith to help design this guitar, which has since become a staple in the PRS line of instruments. This guitar is #61 of the first 100 ever made, signed by the Ted McCarty. Mr. McCarty is considered by many to be one of the greatest guitar innovators of the past 100 years, with his name on the patents for the Les Paul, Tune-o-matic bridge, the Firebird, ES335, and many more. #61 has a Mahogany body & neck, a flamed sugar maple top, and PRS Dragon Bass humbuckers. The sustain is long and rich. The tone is fat, clear, and singin'. I love playing this instrument. #61 of the first 100, signed by Ted McCarty in 1994.
