Product Reviewed: Propellerhead Reason 3.0 Upgrade

I highly recommend this upgrade for many reasons.

#1 Unlike version 2.5 or before, You save alot more time with the search feature on 3.0 while looking for specific sounds.

#2 the mastering suite combined with a better audio engine really helps the mixing aspect of things, and just sounds better.

#3 The newly added combinator is a blessing in disguise, You can virtually make a complete song in 1 combinator all by it's self if you really wanted to. The combinator also allows you to layer synth like never before, and control as many synth modules as your computer can handle with one midi controller.

#4 There are much more advanced midi options to choose from compared to older versions.

#5 It's just so much better, and definitely worth the money if you already are an owner of 2.5 or older. It truly is an upgrade and a half.

After using 3.0 I will never go back to 2.5 and that's a fact. I recommend this to all Reason users in need of this upgrade.

Product Reviewed: Crate FXT120 Guitar Combo Amp with DSP

I've owned this amp for two years now. I bought it for the great price and the amount of wattage. I've played gigs at L.A.'s Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, The House of Blues and the Viper Room among others and everywhere I go I take this Amp. It delivers a fantastic warm tone with many tweaking features for the two overdrive channels giving you a wide array of distorted sounds. The clean channel sounds very crisp and can be tweaked to sound exactly how you want. When the amp is cranked very high you get a light hiss but that's expected. Many see it as a downside. I see it as some attitude. The amp is beautiful for live shows, even if it isn't miked up. It is my amp of choice for recording sessions. The effects are fun to play with. Flange and Reverb sound beautiful. The others are a matter of taste. I have used several of the effects from the amp during recording sessions. The foot switch is a nice touch and the DSP memory is a life saver. Long story short, it's a great value and a good solid amp. Never had any real problems with it.

Product Reviewed: Ibanez AEG10NETNG Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Though not very loud, this guitar sings with a sweet natural tone that is best when amplified. Whether plugged into an acoustic guitar amp, electric guitar amp, PA system, or recording channel it is easy to acheive many great sounds directly from the guitar. The 3-Band EQ, Shape contour, chromatic tuner, volume control, and phase switch combined with a Fishman pickup are probably worth the total price of this extremely playable guitar. The body and neck are both slimmer than most classical designs and are joined at the 14th fret with a cutaway that allows easy playing up to the 21st. None of the 21 frets are marked giving the neck a very smooth appearance while the rest of the guitar is adorned with color and gloss. Both neck and body are edged with white and black binding and are dark mahogany while the top is spruce with abalone around the sound hole and a stunning tangerine finish. Gold classical tuners and dual outputs, one 1/4 in. and one XLR, also help make this unique guitar stand out as a great value. Requires two AAA bateries.

Product Reviewed: Denon DN-HP1000 Professional DJ Headphones

These are great headphones. I've used/owned many headphones, including Pioneer HDJ-1000s, Sony MDR-700 and MDR-V500, Sennheiser, and others. These are the best I've used. The sound quality is very good - the Pioneers may have slightly more accurate lows, but not by much. The durability on these is much better than the Pioneers or Sonys, however. These are also much more comfortable for long periods than the Pioneers, in my experience. They also have the added ability to swivel both ways, which most headphones do not. This is useful for DJs who wear their headphones in unconventional ways...it was useful for me while messing around at home when I needed to be quiet. I won't go into the details, but when using split cue on my mixer I prefer to flip my headphones around, and most headphones do not fit well when flipped.

Overall, I'd highly recommend these.
