    HOW TO BUY

Description Images Video How To Buy

From the Wright brothers' humble beginnings to Neil Armstrong's famous first steps on the Moon, flight is perhaps the most remarkable of man's achievements. For many devotees of premium-quality acoustic guitars, the work of the Martin Custom Shop is a close second. So it is only fitting that C.F. Martin & Co. has produced a unique instrument paying tribute to the legacy of air and space travel. Crafted by the Master Luthiers of the Martin Custom Shop with inlays by renowned artist Larry Robinson, the "History of Flight" acoustic is a one–of–a–kind work of art honoring the technology that defined the 20th century.

The "History of Flight" guitar is constructed from the finest materials available – a solid Adirondack Spruce top matched with back, sides and neck constructed of rare and beautiful solid Brazilian Rosewood. These impeccable tonewoods serve as the perfect canvas for Robinson's eighteen individual inlays, crafted from mostly mother of pearl and silver, with a few other materials for accent. These highly-detailed adornments chronicle the greatest moments in history of flight, like Charles Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis, a NASA Space Shuttle, and SpaceShipOne, which completed the first privately-funded human space flight on June 21, 2004.

    The Flight

As the proud owner of this amazing instrument, you will receive more than just a guitar. Accompanied by Guitar Center CEO Marty Albertson and staff on the Guitar Center corporate jet, you'll be flown from any city in the contiguous United States to the C.F. Martin & Co. headquarters in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Once there, Martin CEO Chris Martin will lead you on a personal tour through the legendary guitar maker's historic facilities, after which you'll be presented with the "History of Flight" acoustic.

Only one will ever exist. This masterpiece is sure to be a unique and unforgettable centerpiece for even the most distinguished collection.
