Taylor GACSE, GACSCE Buyer Select Custom Ltd Edition Guitars Earlier this year, our acoustic buyer went to the Taylor factory in search of over-the-top tonewoods to build a limited number of highly desirable custom guitars. After going through the "usual suspects" of gorgeous Koa, rich Australian Blackwood and rare Madagascar rosewood, he stumbled across two pallets of highly figured Cocobolo, sometimes known as Mexican rosewood. It was extremely nice wood, but he was set on acquiring woods that would turn your head every time you pick up your guitar. So, after hours of picking though set after set of unbelievable wood, he was able to come with only enough wood to build six instruments. Imagine wood that is so cool even in its raw state he didn't want to leave the room!

We had Taylor make 2 non-cutaway grand auditorium guitars (model GACSE) and 4 cutaway grand auditorium guitars (model GACSCE), all with Taylor's premium Expression electronics. Each guitar contains a small amount of highly coveted sap wood that is blonde in color next to beautifully figured, dark, rich Cocobolo. The sap wood is natural to all trees, but is most stunning in dark woods because the light color offers such a striking contrast. To quote our buyer, "Every day I am privileged to be around the best guitars the industry has to offer. If these guitars were not enough to make me dream about them in the middle of night, they weren't good enough for Guitar Center customers!" The pictures on the photo page put this experience into perspective. These guitars took several months to build and were made by Taylor's most experienced luthiers. Every detail was executed with utmost skill and care as everyone who touched them throughout the build process knew they were working on what can most accurately be described as the guitar of a lifetime.

Good looks are not all a great guitar is made of. These instruments feature solid Engelmann spruce tops on the solid Cocobolo. This is a known best combination of woods to render rich, full tone. Certainly the koa binding and abalone trim will light up your eyes, but you will hear a unique and unbelievably rich tone from the first note you play that will improve with age.

There are only six of these guitars. They are available only in a select few stores. Because of the extremely limited supply of wood, they are not available on line. Check the "How To Buy" tab to see where they are located. Call one of these stores today to reserve your dream guitar. Once you pick one up to play, the only reason you will put it down is to stare at the breath taking back and sides of incomparable beauty.
